MEMBERSHIP

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Elks members are American citizens over the age of 21 who believe in God.

 

Applicants for membership must be proposed by a current member of the Order and are balloted on by the membership before they are allowed to take the Obligation during the Initiatory ritual and become a member of this fraternal Order.

 

The Initiation Fee is $35.00

​Annual Dues total $84.00 and are pro-rated upon your initiation into the Order

 

MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

​Interested applicants should complete an Application for Membership and have their proposer present it (with the $35 application fee) to the Lodge Secretary.

​

Upon receipt, the application will be read on the floor of the Lodge, investigated and voted on at a subsequent meeting.

 

Assuming a positive outcome, the Lodge Secretary will contact the applicant concerning an Indoctrination meeting at which time additional information concerning the Order and this Lodge will be presented.

 

The candidate will be scheduled to attend a Lodge meeting and will be initiated into the Order. Following that meeting, the candidate will be considered a full member of the Order and entititled to all the rights and privileges afforded other members.

MEMBERSHIP RELATED DUES & FEES

Below is a list of dues and fees as outlined in the By-Laws of the Charles City Elks Lodge #418:

 

  • Application Fee $35 (for applicants who have never been a member of any Lodge)

  • Local Dues $65 (pro rated upon initiation or affiliation)

  • Affiliation Fee (joining Lodge and posessing a dimit) $35

  • Affiliation Fee (joining Lodge after having been dropped for non-payment of dues) $50

  • Affilliation Fee (joining Lodge in August or September) $1
