ABOUT CHARLES CITY ELKS LODGE

Charles City Elks Lodge #418 has been active in our communities for over 115 years! Located on 80 acres of land including a 10 acre pond on the east side of Charles City, the Charles City Elks Lodge is the PREMIER facility to host special events in our city. OUR LOCAL LODGE

/ LODGE MEETINGS
The Lodge meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM with the exceptions of July and August, when the only meetings occur on the 3rd Wednesday of those months.
All paid-up members of any Elks Lodge are eligible and encouraged to attend our meetings!
The Charles City Elks have long provided services to our communities. From purchasing an "iron lung" for the local hospital during the height of the polio epidemic, to providing food baskets to those less fortunate during the holiday, season, the Elks have always endeavored to be good citizens in meeting the needs of the community.

Our Lodge has banquet / meeting space to handle most events, including a full bar and kitchen area available for rent by catering firms. In addition, a large, manicured lawn populated with many shade trees and a view of our 10 acre pond make the Charles City Lodge the premier location to host your next event or meeting.

OUR HISTORY

/ OUR ROOTS
The 418th Lodge chartered by the Grand Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America, the Charles City Lodge was formed by a small group of men in 1898. The Lodge met in several different edifices in downtown Charles City before finally settling in a home of their own on Milwaukee Street. Following the Lodge's destruction in the 1968 tornado, 80 acres of land was purchased and the current structure was dedicated in 1970.
The Charles City Elks have a long and honorable history. Many distinguished community members have belonged to this organization. The Lodge has also provided a number of distinguished members tot he Grand Lodge and State Association. The Charles City Lodge has provided four State Presidents for the Iowa Elks Associaion.
